Born in India in 1950 and having studied at Dalhousie Convent, Gugu Chopra showed a prodigious talent for art at an exceptionally young age. By 12 years old she had already won an WHO international art prize and her love of art continued throughout her whole life. In 2011 she made the decision to return her full time attention to her art and since then, from her studio in London she has begun to create a series of unique and characteristic paintings. With a particular love of techniques involving the spatula, a brief introduction to her art can be found on this website.

Describing her art she says “Painting gives me a sense of euphoria, peace, pleasure and purpose and when you look at my paintings I hope my art is a reflection of these emotions to the viewer.”
